The Cybex 750A is great when used for a lower body workout! This Arc Trainer can help you get fit more efficiently than ever before. The product combines a climber, hiker, and skier, with a compact footprint and a versatile load-dependent design. It is technically a commercial machine, however, it is also very suitable for home use by any fitness-minded user. The Cybex 750 burns more calories than any other cross trainer or elliptical cross trainer on the market. It creates a high-intensity workout with more calories burned.
With the Cybex 750A, you will have a complete workout in the shortest time possible. It has a load-dependent resistance level that adjusts to the user’s weight. This means that two users–one who weighs 250 pounds, and the other 125 pounds–receive an equivalent workout choosing the same program type.
The Cybex 750A offers multiple workout variations that are usually only possible with machines in the gym. They including three exercise zones: a low position called the Glide (similar to a ski machine); a medium position called the Stride (similar to an elliptical trainer); and a high position called the Climb (similar to a stair climber). The zones combine a broad incline and resistance range to emphasize almost every lower body muscle group. In this way, users can determine the motion that best suits their fitness needs. Users can select a high incline to work the quads, or if you want to firm up your butt, lower the incline and increase the resistance level are all that is required.
The Cybex 750A is far easier on the body than most exercise equipment. The trainer’s Reverse Arc offers a wide range of motion with a technology that places the user’s toe behind the knee, which reduces stress on the joints. The Cybex 750A offers a wide variety of workout programs to suit your personal needs, including eight preset programs (such as weight loss, hill, interval, strength, and cardio), nine custom programs, two advanced programs, and one user-selectable heart rate program. It is very easy to monitor your workout with the intuitive split-level display, which includes a magazine rack and a utility tray. It is also compatible with a detachable TV monitor (sold separately), a wireless heart rate monitor, dual water bottle holders, and a dual speed fan.
In today’s word, it is rare to meet someone who doesn’t have a health problem. Some people may have health problems now and then, others struggle constantly. The question is, how are they addressing their health problems?
Fitness is becoming a family affair as men, women, teens, and even younger children, embrace the importance of regular exercise in order to lead longer, healthier lives, and to avoid developing health problems in the first place.
As a result, YMCA—the organization that has long been at the center of community health—must now create fitness centers that satisfy the needs of a diverse population.
The mission is to serve everyone from serious performance athletes to the expanding silver sneaker crowd to the physically impaired.
Everyone wants to know how to live a betterlife, but many have no idea of where to start. Here’s some helpful information if that sounds like you.
The researchers at Duke University Medical Center found that moderate to intense physical exercise and conditioning, such as 12 miles of brisk walking each week, can provide significant improvements in fitness levels, while reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Dr. Plantinga and his colleagues studied 400 middle-aged patients with normal blood pressure and varying degrees of hypertension and relatively low levels of physical exercise.
Physical exercise is related to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease with normal blood pressure or mild hypertension. Physical exercise is important for cardiovascular health because it helps make the respiratory and circulatory systems more efficient. As you use aerobic exercise to improve your health, you will make it possible for your lungs to use more air, and your heart will have to beat fewer times to circulate the blood appropriately. That means you will be putting less strain on your heart, and the rest of your system.
The data from this study confirmed that hypertensive patients had stiffer arteries than those with normal blood pressure, and also found that of the patients with normal or mild hypertension, subjects with a low level of physical activity had stiffer arteries than those with higher levels of physical exercise. For patients with moderated to severe untreated hypertension, however, a correlation between physical exercise and arterial stiffness was not observed.
Even for patients with moderate to severe hypertension, in the absence of pharmacological treatment, who got plenty of physical exercise, their arterial stiffness was no better than those with low levels of exercise,” said Dr. Plantinga. “Our findings suggest that untreated hypertension seems to level out the beneficial impact of physical activity on cardiovascular risk.”
Exercise gets the colon muscles moving, reports the Mayo Clinic. The intestines use muscle contractions to push bodily wastes through the system. Physical movement gets the heart and lungs into high drive and increases muscle movement.
Exercise Benefits:
1. Increased energy: The right combination of exercise and nutrition creates a hormonal environment conducive to fat loss, increased muscle strength, and increased energy. When your body is working at peak efficiency, your energy levels soar!
2. Increased Self-Esteem: Gaining control of your body size and weight through fitness is an amazing way to increase self-esteem. You look better and are more confident, which empowers you in everything you do. You will find that the self-discipline required and learned through regular exercise spills over into other areas of your life, and you will be better able to make other necessary and desirable changes.
3. Better health: Because of bodily activity, everything in the body is stimulated – blood flow, transport of waste products out of the body, production of hormones, digestion, etc. Exercise is an essential part of staying healthy and living longer.
4. Exercise does not need to be performed for long. Just a few minutes with a good program will do the job of building strength, health, and a better figure.
Exercise frequently and vigorously can improve our overall health. It may help people to lead a healthier life and improve the future health of the population.

Unfortunately, few Americans get regular exercise, and usually the reason is because they aren’t choosing activities that they enjoy. Studies show that you are more likely to adopt a regular exercise program if you are doing something you like! Makes sense, right?
So here are some tips for those of you who want to get started on an exercise program, and stick with it:
Before you start exercising, always check with your doctor first to see if there are any restrictions on the activities you may perform.
When you have a doctor’s clearance to begin, start by setting aside time each day for a brief period of activity. Put it on your calendar and make a commitment so it happens.
Not sure how to begin? Hire someone like Paula Jarvis. She is a Personal Trainer, certified by the American Council on Exercise. She works with clients of all ages and fitness levels to help them identify and meet their individual fitness goals. So find a Paula in your area.
Choose something you enjoy – walking, riding a bike, or swimming – and engage in it at a level that makes you breathe hard and break a sweat.
Start with just a short workout — fifteen minutes is a good starting place – or choose a short distance for a walk or bike ride.
When you have become accustomed to this, you can increase your routine gradually.
Make a list of physical activities that you enjoy. Try to include cardiovascular or aerobic exercise. Include a variety of activities to avoid boredom and use different muscle groups.
Besides your daily aerobic activity, add some stretches and a couple of strengthening workouts each week. Variety helps to keep you looking forward to exercise. Plus, you will be on the road to better health.
If you are over 65, you need to focus on balance and strength exercises first. Then, you may perform “aerobic” exercises regularly, such as walking, biking or swimming.
The cost of an exercise program is almost nothing (maybe a new pair of shoes), and the side effects are all positive. Soon, you’ll be feeling great!

That fitness occupies an important place in our society is a fact known to everybody. It’s not without reasons that everyone from large corporate firms and premium hotels to universities and residential complexes are clamoring to set up on-site fitness facilities for their clients.
Whether you run a stand-alone fitness center; a chain of health clubs; or offer fitness solutions as an additional benefit to employees, guests, students or residents, you stand to gain a lot by hiring professionals to help you set up your facility.
Getting fitness center consultants on board will not only help you create a state-of-the-art facility, but also run it professionally and remain competitive.
Needless to say, professional consulting has a greater significance for fitness center businesses because it directly impacts their bottom line. Hiring a professional fitness consultant is vital for the growth and long term success of their business.
This is not to say that clients from other industries like hospitality, education, etc. can do without professional consulting. For them, a fitness center may not generate direct revenue, but having a professionally set up and run facility will definitely lead to increased satisfaction of their customer whoever these customers may be.
]]>
The role of fitness center consultants begins the moment you start planning your facility and could extend up to the time you begin training your staff.
However, the exact services you receive would depend on the provider, their areas of expertise, and your agreement with them. While some providers are more focused on business consulting, others take the lead in offering fitness solutions.
It’s important that you choose fitness services provider based on the needs of your business.
Most fitness solutions providers start getting involved right from the planning stage. This is the stage when you conduct feasibility study and competition analysis. Having experienced personnel to perform these important tasks could be a huge advantage.
Some fitness center consultants may also help you prepare a business plan and approach lenders.
Once you have the required funding and a proper plan in place, it’s time to start designing your facility. This is an extremely detailed job and is best left to professionals who have the necessary tools to do it efficiently.
Most fitness consultants use 3D modeling software these days, which is capable of producing a real time representation of what your facility is going to look like. From floor planning to equipment layout and electrical fixtures to aesthetics, the virtual model of your fitness facility will provide you a sneak peek into minutest of details.
Fitness center design is followed by the acquisition and supply of equipment that makes most sense for your business vis-à-vis your clients’ expectations as well as your own needs.
Because fitness solutions are not a one-time purchase, ongoing support and service form an important part of the package to ensure the safety and optimal operation of the facility at all times.
While the involvement of certain fitness center consultants may end with a contract to provide extended support to your facility, there may be some who continue the partnership into other areas.
They may help their newly established or refurbished fitness center clients in their marketing and promotions effort.
Not only that, some fitness center consultants also provide assistance with policy development, hiring and orientation of staff, personnel training, operations management, budgeting, and client retention.
Clearly, fitness consulting from qualified and experienced professionals has many advantages. It is for you to decide if you want to face the heat of an increasingly competitive environment alone or work with them to give your fitness business the best chance of survival and success!

It means that the bulk of your food must come from fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and fish products. These foods provide your body with the vitamins, minerals, and fiber you need to functions at your highest level. When you consume processed food, you get calories but not much in the way of nutrition that you need. Most processed food has the nutritional content stripped away and replaced with additives, sugar, and salt to preserve the shelf life of the food. High consumption of this food over time leads to weight gain and eventually if not brought under control, obesity. Processed food just doesn’t provide you what you need, and won’t help you lose weight. You need to replace your processed food with more whole food items and eat those foods three to five times a day in smaller portions. Small meals will keep your body energized throughout the day. Make sure that you eat breakfast in the morning to start your day.
]]>
Replace Sugar Drinks With Water
Sugar drinks like soda should be avoided if you want to get fit. These drinks provide no nutrition and the high levels of sugar promote weight gain. Diet drinks are a little bit better but still not that good. If you drink coffee or tea, try a sugar substitute or plain. Fruit juice is not much better so if you like juice try small glasses and make sure it is 100% juice. Other sugar drinks like energy drinks and sports drinks should be avoided too. Your main beverage when trying to get fit is water. Drink water throughout the day and more when you are exercising.
Exercise
To lose weight you need to fuel your body with good food and build muscle. You can only build muscle through regular exercise. When you workout, you help your body to burn extra calories you may have consumed during the day as well as the fat stores in your body. When you exercise on a regular basis your body will speed up the fat burning process. This process doesn’t happen overnight so you need to continue to workout. Make exercise a part of your day and soon the weight will begin to fall off. If you are heavy try easier exercises like walking or swimming. Talk to your doctor if you need help or visit a gym and see a personal trainer.
Have Patience and Take it Slow
Losing weight and getting fit takes time. There is no need to rush tings and hurt your body by taking medications or other quick fixes that you don’t need. Unless your doctor recommends medication for losing weight there is no reason why you should take any and put your health potentially at risk. Start with small things like walking, more fruit and vegetables in your diet and have confidence in yourself that you can get fit. Make exercise fun by getting together with friends and planning activates like walking. Buy new cookbooks and try healthy recopies. Avoid all the hype you see on television with the promise of results overnight. This is not realistic and very misleading information.
You can get fit and healthy. Start with a whole food diet that avoids processed junk food. Get regular exercise and drink plenty of water. Believe in yourself and have the patience required to reach your goals. Weight loss and fitness doesn’t happen overnight but with hard work on a consistent basis you will succeed.
Hi, My name is Kendra, I’m from Vancouver, BC. My interested involve reading, writing and taking care of my family. I enjoy writing articles and taking a walk through the park on a sunny day. I hope you enjoyed my article(s) and wish you the best of luck!
1. First, assess how much you can do right now. Think back over the last few days and write down exactly how much you moved during that time. If you are already exercising some, write down what you are doing. If you aren’t doing much more than reaching for the remote control, write down what you do each day. For example if you park as close to the door as possible when you go to work, write that down. You want to describe realistically what you are doing when you start.
2. Devise a plan to slowly increase your overall physical activity level. If you haven’t been exercising or moving much, be sure to force yourself to set realistic goals. There’s nothing that cancels a fitness program quicker than setting unrealistic goals, going out to achieve them, and ending up not being able to even walk without aches and pains. Set up your plan to increase fitness by setting up small steps to reach your desired fitness level.
]]>
3. Schedule time for physical activity. Maybe you got away from fitness in the first place because you didn’t set aside time for it and you didn’t make it a priority in your life. To make it work and to stick to your plan, it’s important to make it a priority. Choose the best time for you to work physical activity into your routine and set aside a portion of time to do it. Slowly increase the amount of time until you are at the level that you want. If your schedule doesn’t work for you after a while, be sure to reschedule. Keep that appointment with yourself as if it’s the most important item on your schedule.
4. Devise eating guidelines that will work for you as well. In order to get fit, work out a reasonable, healthy eating routine as well. Again, take a look at what you are doing right now. Make a list of what you’ve eaten in the last few days and see if there is room for improvement. Don’t make drastic changes. Instead, make small changes over time and slowly bring your eating into a routine that is best for your overall fitness as well.
5. In addition to exercise and improved eating, if you throw in a little weight training, it will help you overall. Muscles burn more calories than fat, so the more muscle you have the more calories you’ll burn in any activity. Strength training is also good for your bones and for warding off osteoporosis.
Put all these components together and you will develop a good program for getting fit. Remember that the most important part is to be flexible and to stick with it for the long haul.

For most of us, joining a gym or going to the park for jogging seems like a daunting time and we usually neglect it because we don’t have time. This is probably the worst thing we do to our health. Keeping fit does not only refer to looking good but it also has a lot of other advantages such as a fit you would be less prone to stress and other various diseases, etc.
Here are some easy tips to keep you fit:
Proper sleep – neither too much nor too less:
Our bodies need rest and we should make it a mark to provide them with proper rest. 8 hours of sound sleep is required by our bodies and neither it should be too less nor too much. If you sleep too much your body will get in the lazy mode for the rest of your day and with lesser sleep you can make yourself tired easily. So, sleeping is the first and the easiest way to ensure you are keeping fit.

Add a workout routine:
For most of us, working out means becoming a bodybuilder but it’s not. Working out means any activity that ignites your metabolism and gives your body an overall workout so that it burns off the calories and excessive fats and keep fit. A workout routine could be morning walks, jogging, or even you could join a gym. You can also make use of a home gym station or a treadmill if you think going to a gym or a park would be time consuming.
Eat right:
What we eat has a lot of impact on our bodies. Even if you are a lean person you should eat healthy diet to make sure your body is getting the required nutrients. Morning breakfast is the most important part of our diet routine which most of us miss out. Make sure you have breakfast rich in fibers such as oatmeal, porridge or cereals.
Drink a lot of water:
Water is the handiest supplement to keep you fit. Keep a bottle of water with you evrytime and drink a glass every hour.
Do what you enjoy:
Our lives are full of stress but we should find out sometime to invest in what we love. An hour a day watching a movie or playing baseball would surely make you feel a lot better and keep you fit.

Part of the reason for so many people making new year resolutions that never last, or rush to take part in the latest crash diets only to pile pounds back on afterwards is that there is no quick fix solution for health and fitness.
Anybody wanting to improve their lifestyle and swap a pudgy body for a trim one has noticed something that needs a lot of improvement, but unfortunately few stop to think about how long it took to get into poor shape and recognise it may take just as long to undo the damage. Sadly, the modern world is filled with calorie laden food and labour saving devices and it is very easy to gradually get out of shape just by taking advantage of the convenience life affords us now. Sedentary jobs and a wealth of sit-down entertainment only add to the issue and so anybody serious about getting fit must accept that it will require a lifestyle change.
Getting fit does not require expenditure. It may satisfy our need to feel we are doing something about our problems if we go out and pick up pedometers and books full of healthy recipes but the secret to health is actually not a secret at all. You need to expend more energy than you consume and you need to use your whole body as well as your mind.

Shiny toys may well help – but you need to ask yourself if the novelty will wear off. All over the world people get fitter using gaming consoles hooked up to peripherals such as the Wii Fit Board or a dancemat, but when the novelty wears off so the fitness level decreases again. Similarly gyms run their business in a manner that expects their memberships to not be used.If every gym member turned up to use the facilities they would be horribly lacking in space and availability. Human nature has us attracted to new, fresh things, but equally we are pre-programmed to enjoy sugar and rest!
For these simple psychological reasons, true fitness and continued health requires commitment, dedication and a lifestyle change. Accept that you can get just as fit by walking up and down stairs or walking around the neighbourhood as you can by spending money on exercise equipment, but you need to know what will work for you. Will you walk in the heat of summer and also in the depths of a snowy winter? Or will a treadmill with a TV in front of it suit you better? If the latter, can you be absolutely sure that you won’t get bored?
Similarly, while it might be fun to try out new recipes and learn how to whip up a meal, when you come home from work after overtime and you’re tired, will you bother? Would it be easier to stock up on low fat ready meals?
Some people can make the necessary change after a health scare. Some will do it for their family. Still others find that one day they just realise it is time to make a change. Yet more get help, be it from a counsellor, a diet plan such as Weight Watchers, or a hypnotist. Everyone needs to find what will work for them, and they need to tailor their efforts directly to their own needs. There is no quick fix, there is no magic solution, you need to be ready and you need to be mentally strong. Once you’re in the right frame of mind it is time to start, but start slowly and expect no miracles. You have the rest of your life ahead of you, use it wisely!

Physical fitness isn’t something that should be ignored. Besides the boost in confidence that a better body can bring, there are many health benefits to be gained. More energy, an immunity boost to help fight diseases not to mention avoiding the multitude of diseases and ailments that excessive fat levels can cause.
And the good news is, that contrary to popular belief, a good level of fitness can be achieved with just a little bit of regular exercise and a sensible diet.
“I’VE TRIED EXERCISE IN THE PAST AND GOTTEN NO-WHERE.”
From personal experience, I can vouch for lifting weights as a great way to whip yourself into shape. After years of stomach troubles left me a 6 ft 3, 10 stone beanpole, I decided that enough was enough and hit the gym. Within 4 months I had gained 3 stone, of mostly muscle (more on this later). However different things work for different people.
Whatever your fitness goals are, be it weight loss, strength improvements or bulking up, there are many different workout plans available to someone willing to stick to a programme. Weights, Cardio, Aerobics etc.
Since then I’ve spent years researching and testing techniques that will allow me to continue to see positive results with as little time spent exercising as possible (allowing for some kind of social life), and I’ve decided to share the fruits of my labours through a series of articles to be posted here on helium. This first article will be a brief overview of some basic first steps on the road to fitness.
“I WANT TO GET IN SHAPE BUT DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START.”
Like so many, I first went to a gym and had no idea where to start, so I just casually threw around a couple of weights and went for a jog on the treadmill…better than nothing, but by far a productive use of exercise time. So where do we start?

Motivation is key. Right now, the idea of sticking to a regular exercise plan might seem unattainable, but once you get into a groove and start seeing results, you’ll be amazed at how dedicated and disciplined you’ve become. Set an attainable goal, and keep it in mind. Decide on exactly what you want to achieve. Lose weight, gain muscle, get fitter, faster…whatever. If you can set the goal and are willing to work at it, you can get there.
Another great motivational tool is to find a like minded workout partner. Ideally someone with similar goals to you, but this isn’t essential. Just finding someone…anyone…willing to go to the gym is hard enough as it is. A workout buddy is great for helping you to push yourself further and compare results and techniques with.
The next thing that anyone looking to improve their fitness should be to make sure that diet is in order. By diet I don’t mean cabbage soup 3 times a day. A balanced diet is essential but that’s a whole other article that I’ll try to post sometime soon. For now let’s focus on some basic exercise techniques.
RESISTANCE TRAINING (aka Weight training): Many people seem to think that weight lifting is only for people who aim to bulk up, and whilst this is the preferred method for bulking, it can also be beneficial for those looking tolose weight since building muscle burns fat and boosts your metabolism. If you’ve never lifted weights before, start light. Even better, just use your own bodyweight. Possible down side being that you have to work pretty hard for best results.
RUNNING It’s a classic and for good reason. We’ve all run for one reason or another in our lives, it’s a great way to improve fitness and lose weight and can be done virtually anywhere with little to no equipment. And believe it or not you can even vary your running style. Some go for long distance jogging whereas others prefer short sharp sprints. Both have their benefits and will be addressed in a later article (stay tuned pavement jockeys).
SWIMMING After I left school I hardly ever visited the swimming pool, but swimming is a great fitness related activity. Working pretty much your entire body, it’s another exercise where you can work to your current fitness level and aim to improve. Again, start small, couple of lengths perhaps, and build on that each visit to the pool. Alot of people tend to feel a bit too self conscious to hit a public swimming pool, and this is understandable, but remember, we’re all in the same boat (so to speak). Perhaps you could find a time that the pool isn’t so busy, like early mornings for example.
Ok, so there’s our starting point. We have a goal in mind and by now we should have an idea of which type of exercises will best suit us. And remember that we can always mix exercises together, such as weights one day, swimming the next for example. Find what works for you, find out what you enjoy most and what get’s the best results.
One more VERY IMPORTANT thing to note is this…REST. Your body needs time to recover, so make sure you have at least 2 full days a week off to rest and recover. Also if weight loss is your goal don’t go starving yourself. Your body needs fuel to repair itself (again, a later article). Just eat sensibly and all the best in attaining your goals.
